Our House
Our House is a recent project that involved creating a multifunctional prop for a scene in the production. I was able to utalise a constant and forward contribution to the growth and practical attainment of the project on an individual, whilst maintaining this within the wider production team. Working to supplement design, technical and production methods when needed to ensure we were always aware of cureent and potential problems and could act accordingly to solve them. Using plastazote as the structure for each of the components, I had to develop and learn a whole new set of skills in pattern making, cutting, gluing, painting and airbrushing at a high standard as it was for an external client. Throughout the project I provided critical anyalysis of the overall endeavour to recognise how group and solo contributions impacted the quality of the collective whilst working towards the same goal.

Our project provided the opportunity to design a prop/ puppet that would transform from a car to various other notable vehicles throughout the scene, showcasing my creativity and craftsmanship in prop design. This prop was then showcased and utilised onstage during the Carmarthen and District Youth Operas production of Our House communicating with the Director constantly throughout. I also had the chance to be an active part of the production and rehearsal process alongside this module as a Technical Sound Assistant as well as a Costume Assistant. This was the first production I worked on as a part of a wider company, Carmarthen and District Youth Opera, were I worked directly with the actors on mics as well as being solely responsible for some quick changes throughout the show.
